What is the Direct Payment Scheme?
If you are a disabled person and have been assessed by your Social Services Department as needing a community care service, you may be eligible to receive a regular payment from them (Direct Payment).
This payment would enable you to employ your own personal care assistants rather than the service being provided by Social Services. It gives disabled people greater control and flexibility over their own care arrangements.
